About

My name is Donna Hilbrandt.  I am a high school English teacher and drama director and adviser living in upstate New York.  Currently, I am on leave enjoying my new baby girl and working hard as a stay at home mom.

I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Franklin Pierce University and a master’s degree in secondary education from The College of Saint Rose.  I have 14 years of experience teaching high school English and advising drama in upstate New York and one year of teaching secondary English in London, UK.  It is my goal to share that experience through this blog.

I have a passion for teaching Shakespeare and drama.  I have directed 15 shows since 2008.  Working with high school and middle school drama students over the years has been one of the greatest joys of my job as an educator.  I hope to share some of the memories of that work on this blog, as well as any new experiences I have as I tackle them.

In September 2017, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.  My boyfriend and I have decided that it is best for our family that I take a leave from teaching in order to stay home with our sweet girl.  I am enjoying every second of being a stay at home mom and hope that it affords me the time to develop and expand this blog.  Writing is another of my great loves, and I am very excited to have the time and opportunity in this life to challenge myself with this creative project.  I hope you enjoy it!
